Infectious - delivering happiness to sick kids

ARMED with baskets full of toys, Peter and Sally Doran were warmly welcomed by children at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital this week.

The Dorans are the owners of national medical clothing company Infectious Clothing and have just teamed up with the Wishlist charity to donate money to their cause.

The couple began their year-long partnership with the charity by contributing to its toy drive, delivering a generous donation of toys to keep children entertained at hospitals across the Sunshine Coast.

"We just wanted to come in and give something back. Both of our kids have been through the emergency systems in Nambour and here (Sunshine Coast University Hospital) and have had such a fantastic experience,” Mrs Doran said.

"We've decided to partner with the Wishlist foundation because we can just see that it's such an amazing foundation that is supporting all of the Sunshine Coast area health, in particular with the paediatrics wards.”

Wishlist CEO Lisa Rowe said without partnerships like the one with the Dorans they would struggle to operate.

"The donation of toys is a little extra something that they wanted to do,” she said.

"It always is a great celebration within the Wishlist office when we sign on a new partner as it does help us maintain the very special mantra that every dollar goes to the cause.”

We urge local businesses and individuals to support foundations like wishlist.org so they can continue doing their great work. Infectious is uniform partners of Wishlist and supply medical uniforms to clinical staff like Doctors, Nurses, Medical Imaging, and corporate style uniforms to Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, ward clerks and medical records staff.

Infectious is also a member of the Sunnykids P100 club who supports children in need on the Sunshine Coast.

SunnyKids believes everyone deserves a fair go; therefore we work tirelessly to break intergenerational cycles of poverty and disadvantage. Too many kids today simply aren’t getting a real chance to be the best that they can be. The Sunshine Coast community alone identifies 5,000 at-risk children every year. In response, SunnyKids provides thousands of nights of emergency accommodation, and we partner with health, education and child protection agencies to keep these kids safe.

Our Vision is: "A society in which everyone feels safe, belongs and has a chance to reach their full potential."
