The Story of Infectious Clothing Co.

For more than two decades, Infectious Clothing Company has been supplying Australian healthcare professionals with
medical scrubs and uniforms that feel good, look modern and perform through every shift.

What began as a small idea in inner-city Sydney and grew rapidly on the Sunshine Coast has become one of Australia’s leading destinations for
nursing scrubs Australia, medical scrubs, clinical uniforms and custom-branded workwear — trusted by hospitals, clinics, allied health, aged care, dental and veterinary practices nationwide.

Where it began

Our Story Begins

Infectious Clothing Company started with a simple mission: give Australian healthcare workers access to
comfortable, durable and stylish scrubs. Back when options were limited, Pete and Sally recognised that nurses, doctors and clinical teams deserved better — better fabrics, better cuts, better colour options and a better way to
buy scrubs online.

We built strong partnerships with trusted global brands such as Dickies, Cherokee and Biz Care, and we listened to what real healthcare workers needed from their uniforms. That foundation of quality and care still guides everything we do today.

The world changed dramatically during COVID — and so did the role of scrubs. What was once clinical-only attire became essential protective workwear worn across hospitals, EDs, aged care, dentistry, GP clinics, maternity and community health.

Demand for scrub tops, scrub pants and medical scrubs Australia surged overnight. Healthcare teams needed scrubs that fit well, lasted longer and arrived quickly. Infectious stepped up.

With strong supplier relationships and a dedicated warehouse in Kunda Park, we supported frontline workers nationwide — sourcing stock, organising embroidery and delivering uniforms healthcare workers could trust.

COVID also sparked a cultural shift: scrubs became fashion. Comfort, lifestyle and identity drove demand for
fun scrubs, printed scrubs Australia and modern performance fabrics. Infectious led this movement by bringing global brands, new-season colours and elevated designs to Australian healthcare teams.

Thompson Institute

Having seen the impact of the pandemic over the past two years on mental health, especially in the healthcare sector, we wanted to find a way to give back to the profession that is at the coal face of keeping our community safe. For this reason, we partnered with the nationally renowned and local mental health research institute, The Thompson Institute, to sponsor 100 healthcare workers to enrol in their newest training initiative, The Suicide Alertness Program.
